Matthew 13:51–52
Things new and old
51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. 52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

The kingdom of heaven
Matthew 13:33–35
33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. 34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: 35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

The foundation of the earth
Zechariah 12: 1-8
12The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD,
Which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth,
And dformeth the spirit of man within him.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of gtrembling unto all the people round about,
When they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people:
All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces,
Though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4 In that day, saith the LORD,
I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness:
And I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah,
And will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart,
The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength
In the LORD of hosts their God.
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood,
And like a torch of fire in a sheaf;
And they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left:
And Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first,
That the glory of the house of David
And the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem
Do not magnify themselves against Judah.
8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
And he that is †feeble among them at that day shall be as David;
And the house of David shall be as God,
As the angel of the LORD before them.

For we are his workmanship
Ephesians 2:10–16
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in qordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, thaving slain the enmity uthereby:

Believeth not is condemned already
John 3:18–21
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be lreproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

The LORD is slow to anger
Nahum 1:1–8
Elkoshite.
2 dGod is jealous, and the LORD revengeth;
The LORD revengeth, and is furious;
The LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries,
And he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power,
And will not at all acquit the wicked:
The LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm,
And the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry,
And drieth up all the rivers:
pBashan languisheth, and pCarmel,
And the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt,
And the earth is burned at his presence,
Yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 wWho can stand before his indignation?
And who can abide in the fierceness of his anger?
His fury is poured out like fire,
And the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble;
And he knoweth them that trust in him.
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof,
And darkness shall pursue his enemies.

Isaiah 28:5-14
Precept upon precept
5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory,
And for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment,
And for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way;
The priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink,
They are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink;
They err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness,
So that there is no place clean.
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge?
And whom shall he make to understand doctrine?
Them that are weaned from the milk,
And drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;
Line upon line, line upon line;
Here a little, and there a little:
11 For with xstammering lips and another tongue
Will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said,
This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest;
And this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13 But the word of the LORD was unto them
Precept upon precept, precept upon precept;
Line upon line, line upon line;
Here a little, and there a little;
That they might go, and fall backward, and be broken,
And snared, and taken.
